GatLight V3 TI

Lumencraft’s Gatlight
Is Rolex of Flashlights

Popular Mechanics Blog

What does a $400 flashlight do that a 10-buck Rayovac can’t? Sure, both illuminate dark hallways and guide you toward circuit breakers mid-blackout, but only one is designed by aerospace engineers, hand-assembled from more than 80 parts, housed in nearly indestructible titanium alloy (in our tests, it survived repeated hard pitches at a brick wall), and powered by a cornea-searing 240-plus Lumen LED light. The Gatlight V3 even comes with a wooden box to give your flash some splash, because the junk drawer just isn't good enough for this thing.

In all seriousness, while this uber-flashlight is more showpiece than light piece, it’s still incredibly useful—as far as lanterns go. Lumencraft has made it tiny enough to always have handy (even if it is a bit large for a keychain), with a dial on the back to let you alter brightness between "nightlight" and "blinding." Think of it as the difference between a Rolex and a Timex. —Seth Porges

TRANSLATED

As the up to date and flagship class products, the creativity for this Getling V3 LED flashlight come from famous Gatling turnplate scatter-gun, the body for this model (V3) is made of expensive pure titanium that is used for spaceship, or made of the mixture of extremely strength carbon fiber and titanium , there is controller on the rear of the body to control the brightness of it with a rotary knob, and there is a power switch in the center of the button. the length of this model (V3) is only rough 8 CM, and only rough 3 CM in diameter, although the size is so small, but it is the brightest light compared to all other lights on the planet. the bulb can be last (used) for more than 10 year.  Don't wish to buy it (gatling V3) any time and any where once you want to have, if you want to buy it, you should be waiting  3 month,  any kids who want it should wait patiently!  If you want to know how long the battery lasts, no doubt, you will be satisfied."

Lumencraft Gatlight V3 LED Flashlight, a Hoity Toity Precision-Machined Jewel

Flashlight fetishists will be happy to know that the Lumencraft Gatlight is now available for pre-order in its version 3, and this one's made of titanium. Running on a lithium battery and displayed in a solid wood display box, this tiny LED flashlight is more of a work of art than an illumination tool.

Not only is each of its 79 parts precision machined, its brightness can be dimmed using a little controller on the back. Here are a few more shots of this over-engineered oddity, plus pricing info, if you have to ask:

Light Gun

The GatLight might only be powered by a single battery, but it's designed to give out a piercing beam of pure white light. This remains the same intensity over the entire lifetime of the battery and despite the skeletal appearance, this ueber-light is actually fully submersible. It's metal though, so drop it at your peril or you'll end up scrabbling around in Davy Jones's locker.

Got Her! I opted for the ground shipping and it was shipped on Friday. Today is Monday and she arrived at noon! SN: D-397  - This light does not dissapoint. It is everything I expected for the money and more. Flawless workmanship. Fit and finish are spectacular. Solid as a rock. I am thrilled that the low setting is lower than the lowest setting on my Novatac 120P. That is awesome.
Thanks again for a stunning piece of engineering.

"I recieved my Gatlight this morning, and it is without a doubt the most unique light I have in my collection. Not only is the light a work of art, it is a feat of engineering. With the huge number of parts, it feels absolutely solid in my hand. Not a single rattle or loose part to be found, this is absolutely a premium quality flashlight. The beam is excellent as well, and the color is perfect. The feel of the light is indescribably delicious and for us figdgeters, it is fun to play around with it in your hand. I will be going out tonight, and you can be sure I will be showing it to everyone I run into."

The look of the Gatlight is what made me fallen in love but it is not only a georgeus torch to look at , it is a joy also to keep in your hand , it feels solid like a tank ( zero-rattle) and long lasting, the SS version is heavy ( i like that ) but the Gatlight V2 will be made also in aluminum and in Titanium. When i had it in my hand for the first time i thinked : "WTF ! One day i'll give this to my son " ( have not one yet ) .....i don't feel the same of my Ipod !
The pics don't do justice to the real thing.

Simply astonishing. Technical engineering at the bleeding edge. Precision build quality that leaves me speechless. The anodize on the AL 123 is an aesthetic knockout to boot...

I just wanted to say that my uncle came over today for Thanksgiving dinner and he was very impressed by the light. I've shown him a lot of, if not most of my lights, and this one definitely received the best reaction. He was looking for the word to describe it, and I said it was art, then he agreed and said that it was modern technological art.

This is like buying works from Pablo Picasso or Eugène Grasset before they were famous. It's a good idea to buy one now.

Hi guys,

I just want to add my 2 cents worth. I received a Ti V3 today and it is certainly a sight to behold and an item to fondle! I recall early cad renditions of the GatLight and thinking what a challenge that would be to bring to market. Well the V3 is so much more than the original design and more difficult to pull off. This is a piece of functional art and a design worthy of contemplation and appreciation.

The UI is friendly and intuitive and all in the rear! ...

...the GatLight presents the optic in such a cool and naked fashion that it is a natural and should be considered a model example for TIR optics.

The term of an "executive light" is already taken unfortunately because that is what I think when I look at this light and its presentation case. No matter, the GatLight is the light any CEO in the know would have proudly on their desk and at their service when needed.

One aspect of the original light that I didn't care for was the exposed CR123. The carbon fiber battery shroud on this light is just the right touch, IMHO.

To Lumencraft, great engineering and execution of a novel design!
